The students at my school are mostly Hispanic and African-American.
They attend a public school in the second largest, and severely underfunded, district in the country, in the cash-strapped state of California. My students have been experiencing these financial setbacks for years and have been working diligently despite having basic necessities and less than ideal classroom to work in.
My students are AMAZING! Despite the setbacks that many of them face, they do not ever complain or whine to me one bit about their problems. Even with the difficulties they face, my students never complain and they always give me 110% effort and try their very best.
