I work in a low income Title 1 school in Northern California, with children whose parents work multiple jobs to keep food on the table. I am a third grade teacher and most of my parents do not work with their children at home on the standards that they need help on, because they are either not educated enough, don't speak English at home, or they work too late. My students are eager and motivated to learn and are excited to express their thoughts in writing.
