My students are 9-12 graders, who receive services in a small-group, special education classroom in a rural high school. They are pursuing standard diplomas, and take the same standardized tests as their peers toward graduation. Each student has an Individual Education Plan which outlines modifications and accommodations that will help them learn and retain concepts. I've found that the addition of educational technology greatly enhances my teaching, and engages my students in ways that standard book/notes/lecture delivery cannot. I have only one computer in my classroom with an LCD projector, with interactive whiteboard technology. My students love to interact with the Internet and with the computer, but don't like to come to the board. If I can put a wireless mouse in their hands, I believe they will be extremely engaged in their learning.
