My students are curious and enjoy pushing themselves, engaging with other cultures, seeing growth in their language skills, and making connections across disciplines. Because my course is an elective, I have the privilege of teaching students who choose to study French and who always come into my classroom eager to learn. Most of my students plan to use the language for work or for travel one day, in addition to using it to get into college. A few of my students have been to several different countries, while others have never been as far as Chicago. My students enjoy expanding their horizons and studying cultures from across the entirely of the French-speaking world. I work hard to connect our curriculum to my students' lives to motivate students and get the most out of our limited time together. We are a tight-knit bunch, and I love when I get to have the same students for multiple years!
