I am requesting 1 carpet and 2 beanbag seats as a variety of seating options that allow them to work in the environment that is most conducive to their learning style. These items include a rug for floor
My students need a clean space in the library area and on the floor that will allow them to sit in a position that is comfortable for them. Students in my class will not always work well sitting in a chair at a desk so it is important that I give them the opportunity to work in a position that is comfortable for them. With a classroom rug of this side, a small group of students or an individual student can work here with myself or with an aid. This can be use for whole class lessons and stations during small group work.
Your donation would give these students the opportunity to experiment and work in the environment that is best for their individual needs. Not only would this benefit individual students who learn better away from a desk but would also give all students the opportunity to stretch and play on the carpet. In the mornings we would use our carpet as a way to gather and learn about the calendar, weather, and count the days of school!
