If our project is funded, my students will begin to form an understanding of the life cycle of a chicken as well as what it takes to raise animals. We will begin this adventure by diving into the books we will receive. After some exploration with the books, the students will use the incubator, egg candler, along with the heat lamp to have a front row seat in watching the entire hatching process and the baby chicks develop. Since my class consists of such young students we are unable to to go on off-campus field trips. That's what makes this such an important project for my students! These sweet kids will get to learn more than they ever thought possible! The information and knowledge my students will gain and learn from this experience with chicken life cycles will be put into student-made books so that they are able to share with their friends and families.
