I am lucky enough to teach an amazing group of curious & creative middle school students (6th, 7th & 8th grades). They are future change-makers, without a doubt.
My students come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Along with this wonderful diversity in language, ethnicity and culture, comes a wide variance in academic proficiency, as well as mastery of the socio-emotional skills critical for school success. My school identifies as a Community School, which is a model for organizing community resources around student success. We subscribe to a holistic view of our students and employ an integrated focus on academics, socio-emotional supports, and family engagement activities that lead not only to improved student learning, but also to stronger families and healthier communities. There is no where I'd rather be!
