I am asking for multiple forms of flexible seating for our classroom. These seats will be used as a part of flexible seating design. They will also be used for individual students who have a hard time sitting still in their chairs during independent work time at their tables. I want our learning space to increase levels of engagement, foster active learning, and support the learning goals of my students. I want my students to be able to choose a seat that they feel the most comfortable in. If they are comfortable, they will be more focused. If they are focused, they will learn! My classroom design influences levels of interaction and engagement. Engagement and active learning improve retention. These alternative seats will allow my students to move freely and stay focused when it is most important.
