Our three-year-old robotics team finally found a permanent home for the shop in an old classroom. We have a few tools but need several more in order to make the monumental task of building a FIRST robotics competition robot a little less daunting. We have learned that sharp edges can be dangerous and that organizing our electronics, laying out design more efficiently, and using the right tools makes a huge difference.
By donating to our project, the students will become more proficient in robotics and be able to better construct their vision and designs. Our team, dubbed The Moonshot Slaybots, believe in the words John F. Kennedy spoke 50 years ago, "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too."
Our students want to grow in robotics, develop design and engineering skills, and become better mechanics. This funding of this project will help them achieve these goals.
