As 21st-century learners, one of the most important skills my students will need to be successful is collaboration. I try diligently to make collaborating a consistent part of my lessons because students learn more and learn better when they are able to engage in thinking activities with other students. A dry erase station in my classroom would be an amazing addition, and it would allow students, especially those with special needs, to visualize their thinking whether they are mapping story elements, drawing conclusions, diagramming sentences, or outlining essay topics. Not only would this space allow them to visualize their thought processes, but it would provide them the space to work on all of these strategies with others. No more will they have to go through several sheets of paper trying to work through their thinking; with this table, they can make as many mistakes as they need to, erase, and keep moving! Not only will it enhance instruction and save time, but also it will help save supplies and resources! By gifting them with such a creative space, the possibilities are endless as to how far their learning in our class can go!
