This project will give students access to the professional tools used in designing and drawing their imagined set designs to give students hands-on experience that translates into career skills.
The Adjustable Drawing & Drafting Table is the highlight of this project because it will provide the back bone for students experiences in drafting and creating a set design. From the drafting table, students will be able to use the actual tools that designers use. For example, the architect's scale ruler and T-square will help them draw their designs in scale as a professional would. The different drawing templates and triangles will allow students to add a deeper level of detail to their set designs by adding in furniture, chairs, and other items. Lastly, the students will be using actual vellum tracing paper to draw their finial designs onto to create a piece of work at the professional level.
Through the utilization of these tools students will get to experience a new side of theatre education that can translate into other real world applications. As well as give them the ability to create work at a professional level.
