I teach a variety of classes for one of the middle schools in our district. I have a lively classroom the gets filled with 6-8th graders who learn how to play musical instruments to enhance their musicianship. My students are very diverse, coming from all types of backgrounds. Also, more than half of the student body come from low-income household. Still, they come into class ready to learn with a positive and respectful mindset. These lucky students have the opportunity to learn beginning string methods (violin, viola, cello, double bass), beginning band methods (woodwinds, brass, percussion), advanced band & string orchestra ensembles, and general music (world percussion, violin methods, music technology, ukulele).
