My students live in the inner-city. They attend a Title I school where they receive free or reduced lunches. They live amid gang violence and poverty. They live with very little yet are dedicated and believe that knowledge is power. They know at such a young age that only through education will they achieve their hopes and dreams. They are eager to learn and work tremendously hard to beat the many odds that are against them.
