Our students are thoughtful folk who study to be positive leaders in their school and community. There are over 1200 academic minded students in sports, music, and performing arts. We see almost 200 of them daily in our library. They come in eager to be successful, enjoy the use of technology and collaborate on projects often.
They are proud of who they are and they support each other in their pursuit of success. The students want to learn and are ready to take an active role in their own learning. To assist them in this, we are creating a Makerspace in the library to encourage them to have their own opportunities to problem solve, question, build skills and create something meaningful. The tools we need will be an integral part of this project.
This space provides new opportunities for our students to learn skills, explore, team with the right community partners, ask the right questions and then find the resources to make something special. They are eager for just such a challenge
