These students are inner-city, high-risk students that live in a city filled with dreams and filled with life's harsh reality. There school and city are a contradiction of the truth. It is a location where the imaginary high schools like the show "GLEE" are filmed, but it is an institution that holds the reality of inner city youth. They are surrounded by the glamor of what life can be and live in the truth of what it is not. They are humble, grateful kids that do not expect much and are thankful and also surprised when they receive anything.
