We are growing healthy food in an aquaponic system. This system allows students to see how plants and animals can benefit from one another. The materials being requested are the basics to create an aquaponics system for two 7th grade science classrooms. This will give students hands-on experiences creating a sustainable food source of both vegetables and fish.
Our students will learn a combination of chemistry, mathematics, physics, economics, and engineering. The students will use a wide variety of skills including observation, measuring, experimenting, data recording, and critical thinking skills. These students will be given an opportunity that they will never forget. Hopefully sparking their curiosity about gardening and sustainability.
