When I first opened the door and met my students for the first time during Meet and Greet, I was surprised as how independent and social my kiddos seemed to be. I really had to ask myself, "of all the 3rd grade classrooms in my school, did I get all the hard workers?" My students work so hard to be engaged and support one another in learning. The 26 students in my class, while very diverse, have worked with me to create such a welcoming, accepting learning environment. When a student is absent for a day, the whole class is so quick to inform them of what they missed out on when they return to school. I couldn't have asked for a better third grade class.
