My school is a Title 1, public, elementary school in Durham, North Carolina. Many of my students live at the poverty level. Most of my students are bilingual, speaking English only at school. I also have some students with special needs. Many of my students families live in poverty and struggle to provide the basics for their children. I have even had families that were homeless for a time. Our parents are very proud and willing to help their children succeed in any way they can. For some of my students, our school is a safe place to not only learn but eat,be warm and most of all get that extra TLC all children need. I also stress no matter what they Will SOAR to their highest potential. Having technology in classrooms today gives students a different outlook to what they see and hear within the 4 walls of a classroom. Please help me by helping my students have an eagerness to READ!!!
