Welcome to Mr. McCarthy's classroom page. I am grateful that you have taken an interest in supporting my classroom. TechBoston Academy serves the Dorchester neighborhood students in the Boston Public School system. Our community consists of a mostly minority population living well under the poverty line. Our students overcome many obstacles just to make it to school every day.
My classroom currently serves these students in their Senior year as they learn Financial Literacy, Pre-Calculus & even some Calculus. These classes are mostly inclusion classrooms consisting of students with a myriad of learning &/or emotional disabilities. I encounter many challenges every day & love every minute of it. My motto is to "embrace the struggle" of learning. This growth mindset enables students to not be afraid to make a mistake as learning from these mistakes is a pinnacle part of the learning process.
