My classroom is a place that students LOVE to be in. Even when they're supposed to be going to other classes, they try to stay in my classroom. I make it feel like home to them. The majority of my students are what is often called "economically disadvantaged". They often come into my classroom with "chips" on their shoulders, and they need someone to help them to feel like they belong. That's what I do for them in my classroom. I make them feel like they belong. I let their voices be heard and I listen to them and their ideas. I love them like they're my own children, and the culture of our classroom is one that feels like home to us all.
