Through my experiences as a camp counselor, tutor, and teacher, I’ve learned a lot about the best practices for student learning from research, my peers, and my own experiences. I spent a semester in an action-based learning (ABL) classroom and saw how beneficial it is for students to be constantly moving. Instead of regular chairs, the students sat on yoga balls and wobble chairs. They never stopped moving, but they also never stopped learning. That’s why I want to substitute my students' chairs for yoga balls. Your donation will improve my students' ability to focus on their work, which will lead to their academic achievement, greater physical well-being, and enhanced self-worth. I believe it’s essential that students not to be penalized for their inherently high activity levels but rather encouraged to get out their energy in a positive and controlled manner. With your help, my students will be able to​ bounce, wiggle, and move while they focus on the academic skills they need to succeed in the twenty-first century.
