I am constantly looking for ways to be more organized in an effort to make sure they know what is going on and when. Making sure my class takes important notices and exemplary work with them at the end of the day is a large part of establishing the connection between school and home. My students will benefit from the transfer of learning from school to home.
As a first year teacher, I'm still figuring out what routines and structures work best for my students. After a month of school, I realized that I could be providing more structure for them in the form of classroom organization. I hope giving each of them a mailbox will help establish a stronger sense of responsibility as well. My hope is that students quickly get into a routine that involves checking their mailboxes everyday and keeping them organized in an effort to stay on top of their learning.
