Since I decided to pursue a career in education, I have dedicated myself to working with underprivileged communities and students. Often times these students have negative mindsets and lack the self-belief that they can be successful and reach their full potential. As a teacher in a high poverty public school, I am required to create a learning environment that is welcoming, safe, promotes risk-taking, fosters critical thinking, and respect for one another. Our education is a priority, but we also dedicate ample time to learning about ourselves, growing as individuals, and creating connections that help us work together as a learning community to ensure the success of all students. Encouragement and positivity is, but resources are limited. Your support is helping to change that, and my students appreciate it more than you know!
