Our instrumental music program at Belfast Area High School consists of two periods of concert band. We meet four out of five days a week. Most of those periods are fifty minutes each, but they also have a longer block period which lasts one hour and fifteen minutes. We perform three standard concerts per year in November, March, and June. We also perform as a pep band for football and basketball games as well as two annual parades on Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. Some of the band students also perform in the jazz ensemble which meets twice per week during lunch. The concert band is currently composed of 25 students in grades 9-12 with varying ability and instrumentation. The ensemble is a non auditioned group.
