Unfortunately, my school doesn't have the resources to allow daily interaction with technology. As our school district is focuses more and more on technology, my students are left behind. Google Classroom and our district's new Backpack of Success Skills require interaction with digital resources, but my students struggle to get technology in their hands.
These Chromebooks will allow my students to develop the skills they'll use every day in their careers.
These 8 Chromebooks will be the start of a class set I plan to build. In a writer's workshop setting, students will be able to use these Chromebooks in order to revise, edit, and share their creations. They will engage in digital literacy through word processing in Google Docs, collaboration using Google Drive, the easy back-and-forth of constant, and timely feedback in Google Classroom. Access to technology will allow my students to perform research projects using online databases and resources.
Students will be able to embrace the writing process with the tools they'll be using for a lifetime. Interaction with technology is essential in today's society, and bringing their coursework into the 21st century will ensure their success beyond the classroom.
