I want to improve student learning by utilizing technology in my Physical Education classes. A projector cart that is properly equipped will allow me to incorporate video and make my classes more dynamic and engaging for students. Promoting lifetime activities such as yoga, Pilates, dance, are just a few ways the projector will enhance the learning environment. I can incorporate meaningful videos that promote increased physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices, something my students have been asking about for awhile now. It would be much easier for students to complete a "tree" or "standing bow" pose if they could watch a how-to video. I will also have student groups could use the cart to show self-recorded yoga routines to the rest of the class as a way to pull them into the learning process.
Currently, I'm unable to do this because I don't have access to a regular classroom or a projector. Having this projector would instantly change the dynamic and excitement for my physical education classes. Access to a projector, computer, and a speaker will bring new life into a struggling physical education program. I've always wanted to show different types of interactive health videos and this would be another way that I could increase student learning and engagement for my students who live on the margins.
