My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Until recently the demographic of my students has been relatively technologically literate students from middle class households.
Today at my school we have 70+ languages spoken and a much larger population of students that need intensive supports both emotionally and for learning development within the classroom.
My students are always excited to learn about new and exciting things, but many of them are unable to further their learning outside of school. Often times their learning is stunted by the inability to access technology and/or support from adults at home. On more than one occasion students have expressed interest in after school robotics and STEM activities, but because of travel limitations they have been unable to participate.
