Sly Park provides curriculum that is standards-based, the classrooms are outdoors, the instruction is hands-on, and the experience is amazing! Students learn how to build shelters, identify trees, take nature hikes, pan for gold in the creek, they get to take on challenge activities and, gaze at the stars through many telescopes. The Sly Park experience is rich in active participation. Students are rewarded by gaining a rich knowledge in science as they "do" science with full-time, certificated teaching staff. Throughout their stay the students also learn skills in cooperation, problem solving, and team building. It is an opportunity that most students will only get one chance to experience.
