We are a Title 1 school in a constantly changing, heavily migrant, and impoverished neighborhood. These challenges are compounded by the learning, communication, & emotional challenges our kids receive service for everyday. Many of our kids have no Internet access at home, if they even have a computer at home at all. We are one of the most diverse schools in the state, and we have many recently immigrated families who are new to English and receive special education services. These factors lead to a huge uphill struggle to attain the #1 factor in upward social mobility: higher education. Families I'm our community struggle to climb this steep hill daily, and improved technology can really help in the assent. Some of our kids are really focusing on like skill social skills. I also see the access to technology as as a huge asset in terms of communication and gaining the skills needed to be a part of modern society.
