Many of my students are on free and reduced lunch and either struggle to get an instrument or are using one donated to the school. Muted sections of the music right now are played by reaching to the music stand which is not always easy for the younger students. We have no mutes at the middle school let alone a selection of styles.
Having accessories such as mutes is not accessible to most of my students. Trumpet and trombone mutes will enable the students to play all of their music as written. They will also be used as I am beginning Middle School and a High School Jazz Ensembles.
