I am a School Counselor because I have the passion for helping students when they need that comfort, to push them to be better students, and to encourage them to be a positive force in our society. A lot of what I do for my Elementary students is role play. We use various tools, gadgets, and toys to work through our troubles and to build character. School Counselors play a vital role in educating all our students. With the help of our School Counselors, students are taught the importance of social/emotional skills, safe and positive environments, and being a good student.
The one thing that my counseling office is missing is a role-playing dollhouse. Believe it or not, this house could be vital to a child telling a traumatic story, giving me essential clues and details of events that take place in their own home. With your help, I will be able to provide a dollhouse for students to use when they are feeling uncomfortable talking about situations. This dollhouse will bring a lot of comfort to my K-5 students.
