My students make up one of the most unique classrooms you will ever find! I teach in a school with the highest number of homeless children in our district, yet these kids come in everyday excited to learn! In just one semester, they have made almost a full year's worth of growth in the area of reading! We have even held the Accelerated Reader trophy all year. To date, my 2nd graders have read a total of 1,854,779 words, beating even some of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes! The passion for reading that has been ignited within them is inspiring. This is an awesome bunch of kids who show me everyday that no matter where you come from, anything is possible!
