My name is Mr. Chenohara. I am a kindergarten teacher at a neighborhood public school on Chicago's Far South Side. I believe in teaching as a means to advance social justice, to equip students to navigate a complex and challenging local-global environment, to help students gain the skills and dispositions to explore their interests, make meaningful connections to their daily life, and reach beyond their immediate experiences. I aim to foster, with my students, a classroom built on collaboration, mutual care, safety, ongoing inquiry, and critical reading of the word and the world.
