As teachers I believe schools should be a fun, creativity space for intellectual minds. School should inspire wonder, creativity and innovation through the teaching and learning of 21st century skills. More specifically classrooms, are supposed to be welcoming environments that instill in its students a love for learning, team building, and technological curiosity. In creating a culture of social flexibility, creativity, and exploration, I've created a more ideal space for 21st Century learning. The perceived realities of maintenance and cost have driven many classrooms in to a culture of bland learning environments; making it challenging to create a kid friendly learning environment. I have carefully chosen items that will create spaces for out-of-the box thinking, unexpectedness, wonder and, most of all, fun. The giant tumbling timbers, UNO cards, and 3-in 1 checkers sets create opportunities to foster collaborative interactions between students. These items will create experiences that will allow my students authentic experiences that lead to a passion for learning. Also, the ottomans, bean bags chairs,stools, and floor cushoinsBy designing an environment that allows for active learning students may retain up to 80 percent of the information in introduce to them. This type of environment that fosters collaborative and cooperative play should include the use of technology and games to support more holistic education.
