These graphic novels will be used to inspire my students as they create their own graphic novels. These mentor texts will surround students with color, imagination, and creativity as they develop, write and create their own superhero.
This project will support students creativity but also hook my reluctant readers right into the pages and the story. These resources will serve as an anchor text -- both for narrative writing but also visually -- for the project and then will be available for students to read beyond the project.
The project will culminate in a "Comic Con" type event, where students will showcase their comic books/graphic novels and posters that celebrate their heroes.
