I teach 6th and 8th graders who are eager to engage in science learning using a variety of hands-on interactive tools and technology. With students of diverse family backgrounds and cultures, the use of technology can help drive academic advancement in many ways. As we adapt the NGSS standards (for which we have no textbooks), it is pertinent that students learn science by doing...not by memorizing. My 120 science students collaborate daily in learning groups to explore scientific phenomena and develop reasoning skills that will continue to help them in their academic and professional careers.
