Since I am a first year teacher, I am starting from scratch and have very little supplies for my classroom. All of the materials included in this project are basic supplies that my students will need to use every day at school. These materials include notebooks, colored pencils, scissors, pencils, sticky notes, erasers, glue sticks, makers, and rulers. The colored pencils and markers will be extremely important for my classroom because I intend to allow the students to use their creativity to express their knowledge about the different topics we will explore. Additionally, the notebooks will be a key part of my class, as each student will complete a free write in them each morning based on a prompt they are given. All materials will be used to each subject for various projects, group work, and independent work. Since I will be teaching at a Title 1 school, many of my students will not have access to a lot of these supplies at home, and therefore will need them to be provided by me, their teacher, in order to succeed in school. I am so excited to start this journey with my first ever class of students and make it the best school year possible!
