Players will be able to experience volleyball, many for the first time, by using the volleylites provided by this project. In addition, a cart to put them in will keep the balls contained and prevent injury which could occur by having the balls in a pile on the ground.
Fourth and fifth graders will be able to enjoy the comfort of using lighter and softer volleyballs to train with which will prevent injury. The Volley-Lites will be used to develop skills such as setting, serving, spiking, and bumping. These volleyballs are lighter than a regular volleyball and are age-appropriate for elementary age players.
Finally, the spike trainer will allow the players to develop confidence in their spiking in a very non-threatening way. This is one of the hardest things to teach and this tool will allow more players to experience success with this skill.
