I work in a solidly middle-class school with a wide range of students. I teach AP English classes to juniors who already have their eyes on competitive colleges. I also teach low-level freshmen who aren't even thinking about what they need to do next week, never mind after high school. It's a wide range, but what many of my students have in common is a difficulty in reading for long periods of time without their attention wandering.
