I am truly blessed to be able to spend time with precious little learners each and every day, but that doesn't mean I am not faced with challenges that my students face. I am a kindergarten teacher at a title one school. The majority of the students are from low income homes, and a percentage of parent participation is unfortunately absent. A number of these children come to school hungry, tired, and untidy looking forward to a safe haven in their classroom. They often look forward to the smile of their teacher, school staff, and cafeteria employees to bring a loving familiarity to their world. My school offers a sanctuary for our little people. We excel in customer service and community engagement by tapping into the lives of our students. I would like for us to grow more technologically savvy. This will enhance my teaching instruction knowing that I am leading, guiding and directing our youth to a brighter future.
