My students need a new classroom carpet to sit, play, and learn together. Carpet time is the HEART of my classroom. Why? Well, this is where the most learning takes place throughout the day! In the morning, we have “Greeting Time” as well as “Message and Question of the Day.” This includes gathering to sing our good morning songs and engage in calendar time activities. Students share what they drew and wrote about in their daily journals. The day’s question leads to many interesting topics of conversations. This space is used during “Circle Time’ meetings, which we have three times a day. During these meetings, we listen to stories, learn letters, sounds, math concepts, and content areas. In addition, we have “Learning Centers,” where students come together to build relationship skills such as, taking turns, sharing, talking to each other, team building, and develop friendships. Lastly, we have our closing circle at the end of each day. We come together to discuss events that happened throughout the day, recall what was learned, and sing songs.
I will use my NEW Classroom carpet to maintain a warm, inviting, and positive learning environment where my students will continue to be eager to sit, learn, and play together each day!
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read about my classroom.
