This group of second graders are full of energy and ready to learn. Being in such a small town and district, with many low income families, sometimes these students are limited in their access to technology, opportunities and so much more. My school is like a family, with a very supportive staff and teachers that go above and beyond on a daily basis. My second graders have a great interest in technology, and can be much more engaged in all subject areas with hands on activities. However, our school only has 1 small computer lab, which the upper grades use a majority of the time. These students also face hardships at home & many don't have home computers. Our students are needing more support and individualized education regarding math and reading. In my classroom I have a huge spread of academic abilities. Being able to differentiate for all of their needs can be quite a challenge, and having iPads could help me differentiate and reach all my students.
