Young children learn best by experimenting with their environment through hands-on activities and play, which is why learning centers are the most vital part of the preschool classroom. My project focuses on providing a variety of materials in my learning centers to enhance the quality of student learning. Discovery tubes, snap together letter blocks, and light table sensory play materials are just a few of the resources needed to help my little learners explore and discover during learning centers.
Purposeful play is the most rewarding type of learning.
These learning materials will be used daily to explore, create, and extend student learning. Currently, I am not able to change out my materials on a regular basis because I do not have a variety of items for all of my learning centers. This project will provide me the opportunity to frequently rotate the learning experiences that are available to my students. Providing activities that are new and different is the key to continued student engagement. This project will help to build the foundation for purposeful play skills and a love of learning for my preschoolers!
