Students get the chance to sit around the room during their independent work. Currently, their only options for seating would be the hard, cold tile floor, the rug (which is usually very crowded), or a small and thin pillow. By giving my students more access to these new types or seating, I would be allowing them to find safe and smart choices around the room to work as well as read.
Sitting in a plastic chair all day can be horribly uncomfortable. With these new seats, they will be able to sit in a more comfortable chair which can help them remain engaged in the activity at hand. Plus, those students who require more movement throughout the day will have a productive outlet for that.
