As you walk into our classroom, you'll find tables instead of desks; beach chairs, colored stools, crates, and comfy pillows instead of cold uncomfortable metal chairs. Centers with different and diverse materials (like books, manipulatives, and games) are within everyone's reach to further develop reading, math, creativity, and imagination.
When 3rd and 4th graders walk into our room this school year, my goal is not only to reteach and remediate but also to expand and to build upon their built-in social, emotional and academic knowledge.
Our school, Magnolia School is located in rural Foley, AL, in southern Baldwin County and serves students in grades PreK through sixth. About 80% of our school's population receives free or reduced lunch.
