We are part of a Title I school and have many students receiving free or reduced lunch. My students are from diverse backgrounds and have diverse learning styles. They love first grade because they learn to read and write and do "hard" math problems. We work hard every day to connect our learning to things in our lives to make it more memorable. My students are all very different, but they work together very well and are always willing to help one other. They have great manners and they strive to reach the goals that are set in front of them each day. We talk every day about how we can do hard things! My students believe they can achieve and most importantly help other students achieve anything they believe they can do. We talk about how perseverance and a positive attitude will take them to many places in life where they can be successful!
