The materials that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! I have created a reading corner in my room where students have the opportunity to relax while they dive into books. I currently have a couple of pillows they can lay on, but I know if I could get some bean bags and kid rocking chairs, I could provide a more comfortable area! As a teacher, I tell my students that the joy of reading comes with being able to get lost in a book! If they were cozy, I think they would have a better chance at becoming engaged with what they are reading.
Being able to give my students the opportunity to be "wiggly" while learning is my main focus! The balance and wobble chairs will be for our reading group/small group work table. I have a horseshoe table where I work with groups of students. They are often quite wiggly and have a hard time sitting still in regular student chairs. I am a strong believer that providing flexible seating can help get their wiggles out while learning certain topics. Thank you in advance for your support in making this a reality!
