My students need a blue Round Carpet and two area Rugs plus a dozen soft seats to make our classroom more inviting. Chairs all day are OUT. Comfort is in. When you walk into my classroom you see five big square tables, and student chairs with NO classroom rugs! I would love for my classroom to look welcoming and feel cozy for my students. Research shows when students can choose their seat, they feel comfortable, calm, and relaxed compared to sitting in the same chair all day, with the same group of fellow students.
I would like to gradually transition my students into flexible seating. Adding the rugs and comfy seats, will give the students the opportunity to work on assignments in an environment that is welcoming and familiar to home.
