I teach Kindergarten and encourage my students to listen to their bodies and find positions and places in the class that allows their best learning. Flexible seating provides different options for students to find comfortable positions, to have control over their learning environment, and to have a sense of autonomy. Any parent of small children can agree that it鈥檚 difficult for them to 鈥渏ust sit鈥. They are fidgety, squirmy, and constantly changing position from their knees to their bottoms. The wobble stools and floor chairs provide the opportunity for students to move and sit in a way that鈥檚 more developmentally appropriate.
