My students thrive off of project-based learning. These materials will help them set apart their projects from others. They will be reading a book called Hoot, which has many universal themes such as bullying, gentrification, and animal rights. Many of the students do not have access to a computer at home and can not read the online version. My goal is to establish a classroom library for this class and the many more to come. After reading Hoot, we will create diorama projects which reflect upon the universal theme they relate to the most. The supplemental materials will allow them to be as creative as they can be, with no material restrictions. These projects can be a scene from the book or a scene from their lives that correlates with the theme.
